ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK 2026

 A volunteer opportunity to engage in conservation efforts across Howard County, MD

About: Howard EcoWorks, environmental nonprofit, is seeking volunteers during spring break for cleanups and forest management throughout Howard County! Take this chance to engage in public service and help communities thrive! 

Alternative Spring Break is an annual volunteer event hosted by EcoWorks. It runs during Howard County Public School System's scheduled Spring Break, and offers a chance for students and adults to engage in public service. 

Activities range from invasive vine and plant removal, forest management, community garden clean-up, and tree planting. Locations are areas that Howard EcoWorks has partnered with and identified a critical need for clean up. This is a great opportunity to gain service learning hours, experience with environmental stewardship, and help your local community.
